In August and September of 2017, I ventured throughout Vietnam with Ivy and her family. I'd never travelled to Asia before and was eager to experience the culture, the food, the people and the land as authentically as I could.
Before setting out on the trip, I knew this wasn't to be one where each day presented stunning landscape vistas. But that was okay, for it presented me with an opportunity to reach outside my comfort zone. Rather than lug my entire camera gear across the country, I set out with my camera body and a sole 50mm prime lens. I intended to focus my time on producing a short travel film of our adventures, which I've included below.
The trip saw me swim in the warm waters of Da Nang, cruise along the Mekong Delta (during a tropical downpour) and wander through the lantern-lit alleyways of Hoi An at night. Oh, and I also learned to use chopsticks after 25 years. Thanks for the memories Vietnam!
